Police officers responding to a possible parental abduction in Baltimore arrested an armed 21-year-old man Sunday on a traffic warrant and handgun violation.
Officials were responding to reports of the parental abduction in the 2700 block of Rosedale Avenue when they located Cyrus McDowell, who fit the description given by dispatch.
After interviewing McDowell, police placed him under arrest as a result of the traffic warrant.
Police officers said they also found a loaded handgun on him.
Police said the arrest ensured the safety of a child and removed a dangerous weapon, containing illegal ammunition, off the streets.
